Each membership has its own perks and cons, so you have to weigh your options and think about what's important to you. For most of us, cost is a pretty big factor. Multi club access for Passport membership is $59.99 per month with a 1-year commitment or $69.99 per month for Passport membership with no commitment. Student membership is available for $39.99 per month. All membership levels excluding student members require a $20.00 initiation fee. By the end of the two-month Equinox membership, my running endurance had noticeably improved, and thanks to my trainer my arms were jacked like Madonna during her yogi-Kabbalah phase. FIND ANOTHER CLUB. STEP 3 OF 4 Payment. Equinox is by far the most ridiculous, overpriced gym in NYC. I have been a member of Crunch, did a weekly pass at Equinox, NYSC, Tribeca Health and Fitness, and Mid-City Gym. Equinox is nice, but Jesus Christ, is it overpriced (and filled with people only doing cardio). I currently pay $340 for 13 months at Mid-City Gym.
The membership fees for Equinox varies and will depend on several factors including your location, membership type and if there are any special offers available at the time of your application. On the average the monthly membership is $120 to $165, and the signup fee can be $0 if there’s a promo or up to $600. 2,883 Likes, 274 Comments - Equinox (@equinox) on Instagram: “Starting tomorrow, we’ll be debuting @variis by Equinox classes here. Wherever you are, we’ll be…” I’m breaking down the pros and cons of joining Equinox for anyone who might be on the fence. Back in April, I joined Equinox after deciding to part ways with ClassPass (I did a post on the pros & cons of ClassPass HERE if you’re interested). I was frustrated with not being able to get into the class times I wanted via ClassPass, and on days I didn’t take classes, I wished I had access to. Also, it is BS that I have a passport membership but can't access all clubs (like Printing House and the Sports Club LA gyms Equinox bought)." — Lauren Levinson, senior Beauty editor, NYC
New York Sports Club (discussed above) offers its Passport membership for $79.99/month. With a passport membership, choose between skipping the initiation fee and paying an $80 monthly fee plus the processing fee for a $130 up-front total, or paying the $100 initiation fee plus the $50 processing fee with a $70 monthly fee for a $220 up-front total (extra fees, like the prorated amount for the rest of January, may apply). The cost of a membership will depend on the exact location, the type of membership you want and how many people are joining at once. Initiation fees can range anywhere from $200 to $300, while the monthly dues can be anywhere from $150 to $250+ per month , with the exception of the E at Equinox, which is said to be $26,000+ a year.
New York Sports Club boasts an impressive staff, all friendly and dedicated to helping its members work out as efficiently as possible. Many of its classes are included in the membership, but even if a client wanted to add a service, like personal training, the membership prices are much less scary.
